SELECTION GUIDE

Choosing laser cutting equipment for plate, profile and tube

Match the material form, part geometry and handling method before selecting a power rating.

Separate the cutting tasks

Plate cutting, H-section processing and tube cutting use different support and positioning arrangements. List the required holes, contours, end cuts and bevels. Check whether the proposed machine and software cover each operation for the actual section size.

Validate material and cut quality

Share material grade, thickness range, surface condition and required edge quality. Request sample cuts for representative parts. Available laser power alone does not establish a guaranteed cutting thickness, speed or tolerance for every material.

Include handling and operating needs

Consider loading length, support, remnant handling, extraction, assist gas, consumables and maintenance access. Confirm enclosure and protection requirements for the installation. Compare the complete proposed configuration and operating workflow, not just the laser source.

General selection guidance. Actual feasibility, configuration and acceptance criteria require review of your component and project conditions.
